JAY-Z & Alicia Keys performing "Empire State of Mind" Last night before game 2 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Recently, I have heard a lot of "what is Movie Life" and "what is Evil Weed?" Here is your explanation:
Movie Life is the documentation of the making of Evil Weed. It is a behind the scenes look into how an independent movie gets made. The stress, joy, uncertainty, hard-work, fun, and action that goes into a feature-length film getting made with a young cast and a first time director. Movie Life will air online episodes from now through the end of November.
Every once in a while you will run through a series of nifty sites you rarely go to. The Neistat Brothers' site is my favorite example. This video caught my attention because I ride bikes on the daily. The end is surprisingly surprising!
Last night was episode 7 of "College Life". It was tight! If you missed it, watch it here, and make sure to tune in for the ONE HOUR season finale next Monday at 10pm only on MTV.
Danny Macaskill is an incredible trial mountain biker who has blown up overnight online.
Unfortunately sometimes people get caught doing things in school, things they aren't supposed to do. When one gets caught doing said naughty activity, they will almost always get detention. I had to sit around in a classroom today with no one besides the teacher and myself. The teacher was not leaning over me, which was fortunate for me, because I was able to waste time watching amusing videos on you tube. I wanted to share two things with you today; those being one of the many videos I watched, and the other is the orgin of why people get punished. Here is the link to the reason why people get punished. The reason why I wanted to share the orgins of punishment is because I believe there is always a better way of achieving something, and the only issue is figuring out what it is.
Geoff McFetridge is pretty much the reason I am a graphic designer. While aimlessly wandering through college (academically speaking), I ended up stumbling upon a book of his illustrations, tshirts, drawings and the like. I was instantly amazed and decided I wanted to do the same thing. It was one of those rare ephiphany type moments, the kind you always remember...I found this outstanding mini documentary produced by Coudal Partners, a design firm in Chicago. As part of their Western State series, this video features McFetridge talking about his process and showcasing his work. It's quite good. Enjoy.
The Young Ones was a sitcom on the BBC in the 80's. The show centered around four college students and their shitty flat. It was pretty hilarious. One of the cooler aspects of the show was that they had some awesome musical acts perform including Madness, The Damned, Dexys Midnight Runners, and of course, Motörhead. The funny thing about having these bands on the show was that their performances rarely made any sense. They would just sort of show up and start playing, as you shall see.
Mondays are boring, tiresome, sometimes even hungover (if you went super hard on Saturday night). These videos are posted to help bring a smile to your face and ease the pain that comes with the start of a work week. Oh ya, and the fact that there are animals in them doesn't hurt :)
The Virgins latest video for their song "One Week of Danger" premiered this week. Directed by our former office neighbor and all around talented guy, Kai Regan, it was shot in and around the LES during one recent night. Featuring many cameos from the usual suspects, bikes, an Escalade, girls and a hot dog spot, it's a fun 3minute ride.
On my last night in Edinburgh I pulled an all nighter to see Eric Prydz and Sebastien Leger at the Ocean Terminal in the downtown amd waterfront area of Leith. It was an amazing show and I have never seen such a friendly and well mannered audience an an electronic music show. I have included a 30 minute video I recorded of the show (watch it in HD!) Be sure to check out when he drops Daft Punk's Aerodynamic. The crowd goes nuts!
Holy shit! Tonight. We Saw. ELEEEEPHANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
