Desktop Dump II
This summer has been a blast. Except for the 3/4th of it I have spent on the computer. I dump about a million images onto the desktop a day, and save them in folders by day; the equivalent of stuffing mess in your closet or under the bed. Here is some of the stuff from under my bed.
Ryan McGinley's Moonmilk ... Wow
Ryan McGinley's new body of work, entitled MoonMilk, premiered in its entirety two days ago on TinyVices.com. The series was shot underground in caves across America over the last two years. That Summertime Sound
Check out the website for the new book "The Summertime Sound" by Matthew Specktor, which was released yesterday. I read an excerpt of the new novel online and decided to check out the site. The reactable is a collaborative electronic music instrument with a tabletop tangible multi-touch interface.

PR2, Layman's R2D2
A Times article about the PR2 (personal robot) by Willow Garage–founded by Scott Hassan, an original designer of Google–concludes with a scientist’s quote, “Now they can escape and fend for themselves.”
Biobarge
Mary Mattingly, a sculptor/photographer from Brooklyn, has big green plans. She and three other artists will live on a 3,000 Sqf Waterpod for five months, docking at all five boroughs, intermittently opening the barge to the public.
Saturday, Manhattanhenge
Saturday May 30 is one of the biannual occasions when the setting sun aligns with the Manhattan grid, making our cross-streets glow like a bitch in heat. On Sunday, instead of half the sun above the grid, you will see the entire fiery orb set on the horizon.
