Farewell Meadowlands
Last night was the final game in the history of the Meadowlands, a stadium the New York Jets have called home since 1984.
The weather was unfathomably cold as the NFL decided to move the game from 1 pm to 8 pm, and the stadium was unfathomably dry, as the Jets decided it was not wise to sell alcohol in an environment that could have become chaotic at the drop of a hat. As if there wasn't enough emotions running through all the frozen fans, if the Jets won the game, they are in the playoffs, if they lose, they're out, and have shamed the stadium, like some not to be named team did a week before.
Cheap Photos
Some recent blackberry photographs. Compared to the iPhone's photos they are terrible, of which I kind of like.

The Merchant of Venice
American Theatre of Actors presents Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice. Award-winning director James Jennings sets the controversial dramatic-comedy in the 1930’s. This outdoor production marks the beginning of ATA’s 34th Season. If it rains, the performance will be indoors in the Off-Broadway Chernuchin Theatre.
Wooleystock 2009
Wooleystock 2009 was a music festival at the Wooley Street Gallery in Atlanta. It was based around music, love, peace and free beer.
Carnivores and Living Rooms performed until 2 am, illuminated by a projector playing "Bum Fights 2" on repeat. Admission and booze were free and the crowd was treated to an evening to remember (if possible). Not even a scuffle on an empty Peters St or a few local crackheads could dampen the mood for the crowd which dispersed shortly before 3.
Losing Sleep - American Theatre of Actors
The world premier of the play Losing Sleep is a portrait of loss and recovery that takes place in a sleep lab, where people come for diagnosis and treatment. Over the course of a few nights, John and his slacker assistant (me) encounter unusual patients, such as a truck driver who suffers from sexual urges. They must face their fears and reconcile with their future, or they may never fall asleep again. Click here to read more.
What is Movie Life?
Recently, I have heard a lot of "what is Movie Life" and "what is Evil Weed?" Here is your explanation:
Movie Life is the documentation of the making of Evil Weed. It is a behind the scenes look into how an independent movie gets made. The stress, joy, uncertainty, hard-work, fun, and action that goes into a feature-length film getting made with a young cast and a first time director. Movie Life will air online episodes from now through the end of November.
That Summertime Sound
Check out the website for the new book "The Summertime Sound" by Matthew Specktor, which was released yesterday. I read an excerpt of the new novel online and decided to check out the site. Most websites designed exclusively for marketing a book are lacking. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the packaging of "The Summertime Sound" website.
MY NIECE FUCKING ROCKS!!!!!
Many of you don't know, but I have an older brother who used to be a rock star in a band called Fixer. He rips on the guitar like it's his only reason for being, and as it turns out, that and procreation are pretty much it: my niece Cecilia or "Ceci" (SEE-see), just happens to rock her face off. Some New Downtown STAT
There are 8 New Downtown STATionary Cards exclusively at the LOLA Gallery in Southampton. They are pretty stupid and great at the same time. I will bring some back to the city to scan in and put online. People love them. Or hate them. They don't hate them, they love them!
