Last night was the final game in the history of the Meadowlands, a stadium the New York Jets have called home since 1984.
The weather was unfathomably cold as the NFL decided to move the game from 1 pm to 8 pm, and the stadium was unfathomably dry, as the Jets decided it was not wise to sell alcohol in an environment that could have become chaotic at the drop of a hat. As if there wasn't enough emotions running through all the frozen fans, if the Jets won the game, they are in the playoffs, if they lose, they're out, and have shamed the stadium, like some not to be named team did a week before.

What's better? Pork or Beef? Frozen Margaritas or rocks? This past Tuesday, Tasting Table took over my favorite NYC BBQ spot, Hill Country, and held the most epic social-food-booze event of the season: an exquisite marriage of cured meats, pork, cupcakes, oysters, cheese, and Tequila.
On Wednesday night we went to Spade and Partners for the opening of Gordon Hull's new show. The crowd was jubilant as the start of fashion week had begun, and the crisp cool air of fall had arrived. Highlights of the evening: onetime LOLA intern Derek holding it down behind the bar, giant green dinosaur balloon parading through the crowd, and of course the stir of confusion that overcame the employees of Spade and Partners (we love you) when party-goers approached the register to purchase the limited stock of Downtown STATionary cards that were mysteriously omitted from their computer system's checkout...how odd...

Go buy the album but enjoy the selected songs below. Also included is a great video of Jay-Z recreating his album cover photos, and the recent interview on (Roof's favorite) Bill Maher.
The world premier of the play Losing Sleep is a portrait of loss and recovery that takes place in a sleep lab, where people come for diagnosis and treatment. Over the course of a few nights, John and his slacker assistant (me) encounter unusual patients, such as a truck driver who suffers from sexual urges. They must face their fears and reconcile with their future, or they may never fall asleep again. Click here to read more.
