Photographer Bastien Lattanzio: Series II
Here is the second series of photographs from the French photographer Bastien Lattanzio, simply tited "Polaroids." Another dream-esque series. Enjoy.

The Towers of Light
Each year on 9/11 two apparent beams of light rise from battery park just south of ground zero in what is known to some as the Tribute in Light. In reality, these Towers of Light, whose some odd several dozen individual beams represent in striking relief the facade of the Twin Towers, are a ghostly effigy and an enduring symbol of hope. Who when up close are changed and reborn by the clouds, condensation, moisture, moths, and birds, at different altitudes and phases, to create one of the greatest standing pieces of art known to man, illustrating his ability to burn the heavens, just as readily as his depth and sorrow at his place on earth.
Spade and Partners
On Wednesday night we went to Spade and Partners for the opening of Gordon Hull's new show. The crowd was jubilant as the start of fashion week had begun, and the crisp cool air of fall had arrived. Highlights of the evening: onetime LOLA intern Derek holding it down behind the bar, giant green dinosaur balloon parading through the crowd, and of course the stir of confusion that overcame the employees of Spade and Partners (we love you) when party-goers approached the register to purchase the limited stock of Downtown STATionary cards that were mysteriously omitted from their computer system's checkout...how odd...

"Sequels are attractive to creators and to publishers because there is less risk involved in returning to a story with known popularity rather than developing new and untested characters and settings. Audiences are sometimes eager for more stories about popular characters or settings, making the production of sequels financially appealing." -wikipedia

Fotographien von Berlin
I took these photos while visiting Berlin this summer with Cornelia and Han. With many of the building covered in graffiti, The Cure playing in almost any bar we entered, and a general fashion trend toward acid washed jeans, leather parachute pants and new wave styled hairdos, the city reminded me of New York in the 80s. But amid this quirky time-warp, there is a flourishing art scene and an energetic youthfulness to the city and it's people. The younger generation, too young to feel the restrictions of the wall at the time of it's reign, are growing up with an outlook and freedom that is new and profound. Berlin is a city to watch!

Photographer Bastien Lattanzio: Series I
Four series of beautiful photographs arrived in our inbox last week from a French photographer named Bastien Lattanzio. In broken English he described the body of word as his "Pandora's Box." This is the first series of photographs. The remaining three will go up through September. I love them. Hope you enjoy them as well.
