Photo Week - MoMA

When Fall comes around I have love trying to go to as many art shows, galleries, and museums as possible. I get inspired by art and creativity, which helps when working around the clock. I went to the Museum of Modern Art recently and took a bunch of photographs while there. They had a great Van Gogh exhibit up as well as an interesting Modern Design & Architecture show. See the full gallery here.

THIS IS A GOOD CAUSE!

October.9.2008 @ 4:17 pm by james from lola | Posted in Amazing, America, Downtown, Friends & Family

The Junior Society of Ballet Hispanico Fall Benefit will take place on Thursday October 16th and is a night you don’t want to miss. It will start at the Joyce Theater at 8pm with a performance by the Ballet Hispanico Company followed by an After-Party from 10:30pm – 12:30am at the nearby North Cabanas of the Maritime Hotel. With all ticket proceeds to benefit Ballet Hispanico’s arts and education program in NYC public school’s, $120 to see a dance performance and attend a fabulous party is a bargain.  Can’t make it to the show? Don’t worry; party-only tickets are available for $75 in advance or $85 at the door. For those who would like bottle service VIP tables are available for $375 and up.

Click to purchase tickets/tables https://patronsecure.com/ballethispanico/donation_event.cfm?donation_event_id=6 or call Elizabeth at (212) 362-6710 ext. 43.

Have a heart and please support this great cause.

Sincerely,

Leaving Las Vegas

September.18.2008 @ 1:32 pm by emmett from lola | Posted in America, Honeymoons, Motorcycles

Right now the American Financial market is in a precarious place not seen in a long time. I don’t fully know what it means to the city, myself, or you the reader, but it means something. I went to Las Vegas last weekend, which is emblematic of the U.S. in a lot of ways. Part of the trip was full of celebration, opulence, and spectacle. The other part was a sobering experience. Though not at the level of before, the Strip of Vegas is still a vibrant, pumping heart of Nevada’s economy. Yet if you venture a bit of the strip, the city is littered with abandoned buildings, brightly colored closed businesses, and literally tumbleweeds bouncing down boulevards. Las Vegas has some of the most successful restaurants, hotels, and entertainment entities in the world, but it also has the worst forclosure rate in the country.

In the Gallery section, Alex, whom lives there, put up a great gallery [from way downtown], and I uploaded two galleries, los lonely vegas boys 1 & los lonely vegas boys 2. Check them out, and stash some cash under your mattresses for the next few months.
