A Guide to Gangsters, Murderers, and Weirdos of NYC's Lower East Side
This book is a street by street reference guide which examines the early lives of such infamous criminals as Charles “Lucky” Luciano, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, and Meyer Lansky — all of whom grew up (and earned their criminal stripes) on the Lower East Side.

Kareem Black is a New York based photographer and director that was born in Philadelphia. In 1996 Kareem went to SVA on schalarship. Dark rooms and film processing became his backdrop where he spent endless nights. It was well worth it... Blek Le Rat
I wanted to share a small section of the movie Bomb It that was sent to me. I think this man ads a personal level to his work where others fall short. A lot of street artists make their work for shits and giggles, whereas Blek Le Rat sends a message through his medium.

The Powers of Katsu
As a tribute to the short-movie Powers of Ten by legendary contributors Ray and Charles Eames, the Powers of Katsu take a similar approach in aesthetics and presentations as the original movie from 1977 it showcases the works of graffiti artist Katsu. Nick Poe and Alex Kalman of Red Bucket Films help coordinate and produce things with Katsu as Red Bucket Films begin their first solo show at the Crisp Gallery in London on June 24th till August 1st.

Harley and Cassie dot blogspot
This picture of the toast resembling the Virgin Mary was put up on the Harley and Cassie blog, denoting the price it was sold for... $28,000. Apparently people are making trips to go see it in person, excusing it as a spiritual journey.

Detention.
Unfortunately sometimes people get caught doing things in school, things they aren't supposed to do. When one gets caught doing said naughty activity, they will almost always get detention. I had to sit around in a classroom today with no one besides the teacher and myself. The teacher was not leaning over me, which was fortunate for me, because I was able to waste time watching amusing videos on you tube. I wanted to share two things with you today; those being one of the many videos I watched, and the other is the orgin of why people get punished. Here is the link to the reason why people get punished. The reason why I wanted to share the orgins of punishment is because I believe there is always a better way of achieving something, and the only issue is figuring out what it is.

Jacqueline & Kelvin
Jacqueline Perrett and Kelvin Ho have a modern attractive home. I think it's well designed and looks like a dope hang out spot. There's no doubt about it that I wouldn't mind living there. The ceiling shower head is a nice touch, I have the same thing in my house in one of the showers too. I think the trainer (essentially a treadmill for bikes) is sweet and I've always wanted one, definitely a nice touch for a fix gear rider's home. Photos pulled from The Selby.

KRINK
KR is an infamous graffiti artist who never falls short when it comes to innovative ideas. His newest exhibition included my favorite installation he has made: custom fire extinguishers. He has used fire extinguishers filled with paint in a lot of his past work and has now branded one of the tools of his trade.

SF Fixies
This video is a preview for the Macaframa fixed gear biking movie that came out a ways back. I picked this video because of the filming style and quality of cinematography. The skill level of the riding in the video is also really great. The fixie phenomenon has hit so called 'hipster' scenes all over the place, especially San Francisco and New York City. I myself have plans to get not one, but two fixed gear bikes very soon, one of which I will be building myself, literally from scratch.

The Freedom Tunnel
The Freedom Tunnel is a live Amtrak line, as well as a legendary graffiti spot. Thousands of homeless used to reside there until Amtrak got too nervous and people started to find out about what was going on down there (drugs, graffiti, homeless using the city's electric and water for free) and they decided to evict all the homeless who were living there. The Freedom Tunnel got it's name from a guy who wrote Freedom, he was one of the first people to paint down there.

I Want To Have Your Baby
Team Facelift is a group of three talented artists, Machine, Fat Jew, and Alden Pact. Their producer is Tommy Bermuda, the man behind their unique sounds. I first heard about them a couple years ago when their first album dropped, and after listening to one song (Dippin' Chicken) I immediately bought the whole album. Fun fact from Greg: Leather Face got his name by stapling salami to his face for a halloween costume. Thanks Greg. Their video "I Want To Have Your Baby" is both disgusting and awesome at the same time. I don't know about you, because I don't know who's reading this, but I couldn't stop watching.
