Rhett Dashwood's Google Maps alphabet

Posted by Greg Passuntino on April 25, 2009 in Art  Design  Images  Internet

Over the past 7 months Designer Rhett Dashood spent his free searching Google Maps for letter forms. He's finally finished his project and released his Google Maps Typography project on his website.

He describes his process as:
"Over the course of several months beginning October 2008 to April 2009 I've spent some of my spare time between commercial projects searching Google Maps hoping to discover land formations or buildings resembling letter forms. These are the results of my findings limited within the state of Victoria, Australia."

I love projects like this. Thank you Rhett!

Greg I like the 'W' a lot as well.

I also really like the 'T'. It reminds me of Arial Rounded.
Emmett I'm feeling the T and the E, not so much the G and the Q.
Kudos on the alphabetical posting though!
Vanessa The I, R and S are pretty cool too...
Greg @Vanessa the I, R, S is never cool when placed next to each other in that order.
