Bing-vs-Google

Posted by Henry Lihn on July 08, 2009 in Internet

The digital search engine revolution is getting heated with new entry Bing coming after Google, lauded by some as the "Google Killer" and by the NYT as yet another example of Microsoft copying a hit.

As a long time fan of Google and gmail user I have yet to find a compelling reason to switch to Bing, but hey, we're also Mac and hallucinogen users, and thus anti PC.

Most interesting are the sites popping up around the issue: decide for yourself which is better by heading to http://bing-vs-google.com/.

dean does anyone realize that Bing is not a new search engine...it is Microsoft Live Search, branded under a new name. even worse, it's the great grandchild of AltaVista.
Emmett bring back prodigy.net !
DJ Vibe Bing sucks and is old news...tried and hated it.
dean Microsofts new strategy is make shitty shit, release it, everyone rejects it...so they give it a new fluffy interface and re-release it with a new marketing name...people that are looking forward to Windows 7 are going to be SEVERELY disappointed when they realize that it is Vista, with a facelift. Same ugly architecture underneath...DLL hell, registry, disk defrag...all still there.

Let me stop my nerd rant now and take a deep breath.

Snow Leopard 4 life. 64 bits to the kernel.
Malik Smith Microsoft is incapable of creating anything unique and original thus they have literally renamed an already crappy search engine and somehow expect it to overtake an incredible software application that is Google Search. Next.
Emmett I heard DJ Vibe is a PC
ben I will use whichever search engine has the best name.
